Blake's Bar Harbor Marina - Pasadena, MD
Bar Harbor Marina was purchased in November, 2005 by a well known home builder Ed Blake, and his wife and business partner Diane Blake, a successful Pasadena real estate broker. Since the purchase of the marina, hundreds of thousands of dollars have been invested in the renovation of the piers, electric, water and facilities. The Blake's have invested in CCTV cameras accessible via the internet to enable slip holders to monitor their vessels remotely and are continuing to renovate the marina. Although exactly how long the marina has resided in Pasadena is unclear, it is cited in a 1937 edition of The United States Coast Pilot Section C. P. 250, U.S. Department of Commerce in the written desctiption of Rock Creek, "A small marine railway is located in this creek and is capable of hauling out boat boats 40 feet long and 5 feet (1.5m) draft. Repairs can be made and supplies are available...". Portions of that railway are still evident just below the waters surface off of the bulkhead at the marina.
